Yangshan Deepwater Port Phase IV is the largest automated container terminal in the world and has opened employment opportunities for women in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Shao Miaona is one of the first five women employed and within six months, she's learned to control six cranes simultaneously, making her far more efficient than a veteran operator. The job has become a white-collar occupation. There are now 50 cranes operating at the port, and there will be at least 146 by 2020.
